What is your opinion on Bastard? Tyler, The creator

I just got into Bastard by Tyler again and I honestly think that this is not his worst project he has done, I mean of course he did this for shock value but I think there is something about the Instrumentals that have something to them.

I especially liked Session altough it just has one rhythm and chords to it, like its just the drums and piano repeated for 4 minutes but I still think that this has some replay value like I really enjoyed listening to this.

Especially, I think Tyler was not bad he just did not care and just did those beats to show he will and can dominate the music industry.

But honestly, let me know what you think as I am interested in your guys opinion on Bastard and open to any discussion regarding this topic.

My opinion on Cherry Bomb

I recently went back and relistened to Cherry Bomb and realized how much of the album is actually about change and emotional conflict rather than just “chaotic production.”

A lot of people call the album messy or overproduced, but I think the harsh sound is intentional. The contrast between tracks like “DEATHCAMP” and “FUCKING YOUNG / PERFECT” feels like Tyler fighting between aggression and vulnerability.

Even the music video reflects this split. The “DEATHCAMP” sections are dusty, grey, and aggressive, while “FUCKING YOUNG / PERFECT” is full of flowers and warm colors. It almost feels like the album is showing Tyler caught between his older edgy persona and the more emotional direction he would later fully embrace on Flower Boy.

The title track also stands out to me because of how chaotic it becomes while repeating lines like “I lose control.” It makes the album feel less like random noise and more like someone struggling through personal change in real time.

I ended up writing a longer analysis about this because I thought the album was way deeper than people give it credit for. But I’m also curious how other people interpret Cherry Bomb, since it’s probably Tyler’s most divisive project.
