Just had the worst and longest cramps of my life after a bad (and hopefully) last ever relapse. What’s a good excuse to tell people in my life / work why I’m sick that’s as close to the truth as possible without telling everyone I am struggling with addiction

I am fully ready to commit to full sobriety, go to meetings, and ultimately be honest with the people in my life about addiction but for right now I’m not ready to tell work and family.

Some people I’ve just said I’m sick, others I’ve said I have recurring kidney issues (not far from truth) but if there’s any suggestions I’d really appreciate it.

12+ hours after last use and cramps after 9.5g binge over 5 days

I know I went over the top and after a large binge, with some solid 24 hour breaks in between between sessions I finally was hit with cramps yesterday after a 2g session of a particularly bad batch (and also prolonged use over a few days).

The cramps felt a little different than I’ve experienced in the past. Not so much full on pain as just giant uncomfortable balloon and felt I had to constantly roll and move my body to accommodate what felt like an air bubble inside of me.

Luckily I was able to get to sleep and slept about 6 hours and woke up this morning and was able to go about my day, admittedly in a heat wave where dehydration is a real concern k or no k.

Have not used for over 12 hours and drinking as much water as I can but just started feeling bad again.

Wondering if anyone has any advice on how long this will last especially in tandem with continued sobriety, regular meals, and lots of water and other beverages and any other advice to ameliorate this as soon as possible.

Also if anyone has experience with this kind of cramp that would be helpful as well.

Thanks all. I’ve been struggling awhile and really hoping to finally make some truly lasting changes. This binge came after a long period of abstinence, during which this group has been incredibly helpful. Looking forward to continuing to make get better choices after this terrible reminder.
