19M | ~2+ months on isotretinoin – Is this normal progress? Need honest advice.

Hi everyone,

I’m a 19-year-old male (65 kg) and I’ve been taking isotretinoin for a little over 2 months.

First ~40 days: 20 mg daily

Current dose: 16 mg daily (23 days so far)

My lips are dry, but otherwise I’m tolerating the medication well.

These photos are from today. I still get a few new pimples, but they usually flatten after a few days. My main concern now is the redness and the marks left behind.

I’d really appreciate your opinions:

Does this look like normal progress for this stage of isotretinoin?

Are these mostly post-acne marks (PIE/PIH), or do you see early scarring?

Should I just continue the current treatment and be patient?

Any skincare tips to help with the redness while on isotretinoin?

Thanks in advance!
