How difficult is it to drive in the dolomites, especially during the summers? From July to September? Are there steep and narrow roads?

I’m planning to visit dolomites this summer - don’t have much experience driving around mountains. I’ll end up getting a small automatic car, so I don’t think it should be a challenge. But would like to know about your experience or tips.
