RCBC teases a new way to pay on LRT-2

LOOK: May malaking upgrade na paparating sa LRT-2!

RCBC has teased that more seamless and contactless payment methods will soon be available on LRT-2.

Based on the teaser, this could expand support for:

💳 Credit, debit, and prepaid cards from different banks
📱 Mobile NFC payments like Google Pay (and maybe Apple Pay in the future? 👀)
💙 GCash-supported payment methods

The payment infrastructure will be powered by RCBC in partnership with Visa, supporting the country’s push for interoperable digital payments under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative, together with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Department of Transportation, and Land Rail Transit Authority.

Wala pang full details sa rollout, pero isa itong interesting development na pwedeng magpalawak ng cashless payment options sa public transportation.

BSP Says More Banks Will Ofeer Free Bank Transfers

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) says more banks may soon offer ₱0 fund transfer fees. BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. said additional banks could remove or reduce transfer fees in the coming days, following the recent announcements from Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC).

The BSP welcomed the growing trend, saying lower or even zero transfer fees can encourage more Filipinos to use digital payments and support financial inclusion. While no other banks have been named yet, the regulator expects more institutions to follow as competition continues to drive better services for consumers.

RCBC DiskarTech Introduces Unlimited Free InstaPay Transfers

Starting July 4, 2026, RCBC DiskarTech customers can enjoy unlimited free InstaPay transfers when sending money to other local banks, subject to the app’s daily transaction limit of ₱499,999.99.

In a separate update, RCBC Pulz also began offering 30 free InstaPay transfers per month with a minimum transfer amount of ₱100, giving RCBC customers more ways to enjoy free bank transfers.

BPI account opening, deposits, and withdrawals now available at partner stores

BPI banking services, pwede na ring gawin sa mga partner drugstores, supermarkets, at convenience stores!

Starting July 1, 2026, pwede nang mag-open ng BPI account, mag-cash deposit, at mag-cash withdrawal through participating partner stores.

Pinalawak ng BPI ang access to banking services through a network of over 7,000 partner stores nationwide, kabilang ang select drugstores, supermarkets, at convenience stores.

Sa lahat ng partner stores, available ang account opening at applications for eligible BPI products, habang ang cash deposits at withdrawals ay available na sa 1,370 participating partner stores.

Ayon sa BPI, the initiative aims to make basic banking services more accessible, especially for Filipinos na walang madaling access sa physical bank branches.

GoTyme Bank rolled out a way to convert your MoreTyme credit limit into cash

GoTyme Bank has started rolling out “Get Cash”, a new feature that lets eligible MoreTyme users convert a portion of their available credit limit into cash and have it transferred directly to their GoTyme Bank account.

Users can choose how much to cash out and select their preferred repayment term. Just note that processing fees and installment fees apply, so it’s important to review the total cost before confirming the transaction.

The feature is currently in early access, so it may not be available to all Gotyme Bank users yet.
