I looking at getting a new pair of the Wayfarers to replace my gen 1 model. I currently have the sunglasses but I’m tempted to get the transitions so I can use them indoors more often.

I’m just concerned with how well they are able to transition. I’ve only read that they won’t transition in a car, but what about generally being outside? I work outdoors, and sometimes I’m in a shady area all day but still want the sunglasses. Will they transition if I’m standing in the shade or will they need direct sunlight?
