I am very confused by the idea that a double coat keeps dog's cooler. I have not seen any peer-reviewed research that supports any of this, but I have been banned from the dog grooming subreddits for daring to question this preconceived notion... The only "evidence" I can find, is a very poorly done experiment where they measured the dogs external temp using thermal imaging. They didn't even measure the dog's actual temp, or address the fact that the dog is producing a large amount of heat underneath said double coat.

Am I taking crazy pills, or is this just a symptom of America's failed education system?
