Hey everyone,

I'm gold 3 and been a jungler for a month now. I used to be a midlaner.

I’m looking for advice on how to handle level 1 invades as a jungler.

In my last 5 games, I’ve been invaded at my red buff every time. I play Qiyana and usually start raptors (unless I want to path specifically top or bot), and I ward my blue at the start of the game.

The problem is that right after I finish raptors, I often find the enemy jungler already on my red, sitting in the bush with no vision for me.

I’ve tried contesting twice, but both times I got killed (once by Naafiri, once by Master Yi), so clearly that’s not working.

Also, I’m specifically talking about situations where my midlaner doesn’t cover or ward jungle entrances. I’ve tried warding my blue and then rushing to my red to cover it, but the enemy jungler still gets there first and I end up in a 1v1 anyway. Most of the time, laners don’t move to help (which I understand), so I’m stuck dealing with it alone. Out of all these invades, I only managed to win once, and that was against an Amumu.

My questions:

  • How do you deal with this kind of situation consistently?

  • Is there a safer way to respond without taking a risky fight in the bush?

  • Should I be changing my pathing or early warding strategy?

  • Is it possible to turn this into an advantage somehow (cross-map, invade opposite side, etc.)?

Right now it feels like I’m forced into a bad decision every time: either give up my red or risk dying.

Any insight or jungle fundamentals I’m missing here would help.

Thanks in advance !
