Hi, recently I’ve noticed that my hair volume has reduced significantly, and I can now easily see my scalp. Because of this, I visited a dermatologist for a consultation.
During the appointment, she simply advised me to use Minoxidil continuously for one year. She mentioned that if I’m not able to stay consistent, I shouldn’t start it at all, as stopping it midway could lead to negative results or severe hair fall.
Since I wasn’t sure whether I could commit to that long-term, I asked if there were any alternatives. She suggested trying Medhair tablets and Grip Hair Serum instead, saying they may show mild improvement with fewer side effects. She also advised me to start taking Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 supplements.
I’m open to following this treatment plan, including Minoxidil if necessary, but what concerns me is that no tests were done before recommending these medications. I also mentioned that baldness doesn't run in my family,my father and grandfather still have hair even from mom sides, but I’ve been wondering whether my hair loss could also be related to the extreme stress I was under in my previous job. Now that I’m out of that environment, I’m wondering if it might improve naturally or at least be manageable.
Honestly, I’m not fully satisfied with the consultation and I’m unsure whether I should trust the diagnosis and start these medications right away. Since I believe this is still in the early stages, I feel it may be controllable, but I’m worried about making the wrong decision—especially if the hair loss turns out to be irreversible.
I’d really appreciate some guidance.
