SNUCEE is useless?
As engineering aspirants, we often neglect board exams to focus on entrance examinations. It feels contradictory for an institution to suddenly elevate board marks as a crucial admission factor after we’ve dedicated so much time to entrance prep. If a student scores 180+/200 in SNUCEE but gets around 80% in boards, do they not stand a chance? The eligibility criteria were stated as 75%, and I worked hard to hit 80%, which I was initially proud of.
Other institutions like BITS, VIT, and Amrita base admissions primarily on entrance exams; why is SNU different? Furthermore, what is the necessity of an interview? The lack of transparency regarding SNUCEE marks or ranks makes the process feel arbitrary and outside of our control. We were not warned that board performance would be weighted this heavily. Given the issues with CBSE this year, we deserve a transparent, fair admission process. Paying an application fee of ₹1600 should guarantee a fair admission process. My respect for SNU 📉📉
