I'm building a Robocop and really could use Damage Resistance on the cheap
I think it's safe to say Robocop's about TL9, so I could get myself a combat hardsuit at a third of my starting funds or a single character point of Signature Gear. That's 50 points of DR that I can take off and put back on when I like.
But I don't want to have an armor I can take off and put back on. That feels weird, like C-3PO in Episode 1. I'm a robocop, I want it to be a part of my own body. And this is where it becomes a problem.
50 points of Damage Resistance, with Can't Wear Armor limitation, is... 150 points. That's insane. I could never afford it. Even just 10 points would cost me 30, and 10 points of DR is nothing on TL9.
Basically, I'd be paying 150 times more to have something that's mostly mechanically the same except slightly worse in the aspect that I'm stuck with it, for the sake of flavour. I'd like to cut that cost a little bit more. Any ideas?
