So I got a letter from UGI earlier in the week, saying that my gas supplier had been switched to Indra Energy. Figuring that UGI had some new arrangement going, I ignored it.
Then, yesterday, I got a letter from PPL, saying the same thing -- that my supplier had been changed to Indra. This time my antennae went up -- I'd never changed anything, and certainly not to a supplier I'd never heard of.
Turns out that this is a scam that others have had to deal with: an Indra "rep" makes the rounds of the neighborhood and changes the supplier. What's even more infuriating in my case is that I wasn't even home and never greeted a "rep" at my door. (I probably wouldn't have answered anyway.)
I'll be calling to change my services back to what they were and also filing complaints with the atty general's office, Public Utilities Commission and BBB. But I'm posting here to find out if anyone else has been a victim of these creeps. Based on a quick Google search, this isn't the first time they've done this.
