Rebuilding the highway between exits 45 and 49.

Anyone have experience with being summoned for federal jury duty at the US District Court in Philly? I was summoned for “2 days or 1 trial” (not sure what that means).

My status says I’m tentatively scheduled for jury duty and I have to call the night before for more info.

I’m a super anxious driver and have never driven to Philly myself, so I’m dreading it, but I was denied postponement/excusal so it is what it is.

Any insight on what to expect, where to park, etc. would be much appreciated!

I'm in alotta pain, my front tooth was broke 6 years ago and I've been dealing with pain from it every year on and off. It's all the sudden alot more and constant and i don't think i can take it. I'm out of the Wilkes Barre area, today i went and they told me at smiles4keeps that I'm gonna have to wait a month and wait for insurance to give the green light.. the insurance might say no to a root canal. I'm on geisingers GHP children's medicaid, I'm 20 yo. Im wondering if anyone knows of a dentist that can help me sooner maybe. Or if anyone knows pain remedies.. thanks y'all 🫶

Yesterday I was at the Lehigh Parkway with a friend, and we took a break from biking... we talked for like 10-15 minutes and during that conversation I mentioned how you can spot bald eagles there but I've never seen one in my life. 10 minutes later I randomly turn my head since I love birds and I'm always looking around at scenery and wildlife when I'm there, and I saw an adult bald eagle flying over the bridge about 30 feet in the air. Didn't get a good full look at it but I'll never forget seeing the white head and black body. I rushed to try to follow it but I couldn't find it. I asked some fishermen if they saw it and the guy said "Yeah it was a big one". Truly majestic experience. This was at like 8 at night or so.

ive been dealing with a difficult license suspension/restoration situation thats had a really heavy impact on my life and ive tried handling and understanding everything on my own for a while now, but ive reached a point where i genuinely need legal help and cant afford an expensive attorney and just have really bad social anxiety about this whole thing because court is new to me and this whole situation is destroying my life.

im not expecting miracles or trying to avoid responsibility for my past mistakes, i just want a fair chance to explain my situation and hopefully find someone willing to help me navigate the process correctly

Just wondering if anyone else is smelling wood smoke, off and on, all day, throughout the valley, for weeks. My partner has been complaining of this for almost two months now and keeps likening it to the Canadian wildfire days. He smells it in Whitehall, in Bethlehem, and at NCCC. It's not constant, but it is all throughout the day, and at times it is overwhelming for him.

I can't smell anything. I think covid may have wiped out my scent sense. He has bad allergies and messed up breathing (combat vet), but it doesn't seem to be a sinus issue (not completely ruling it out, though). He says other people at his gym agree with him, that they smell it there, too. What the heck is going on?

How is the area near Fairview Park? Is it a good place to live? Got a friend looking to move to the area but is unsure of this part of town.

Good afternoon to all! If you have the time, I have a very precious ask of you. Would y'all mind helping me bully PA politicians into doing a vote on HB 1790? It's a bill that would create funding for any counseling students while they are in school.

Essentially, to become a social worker in the states you have to work for free or unnecessarily cheap for like two years straight, while also still taking classes and trying to find time to work and afford luxuries like food and clothes and housing! This doesn't include the cost of licensing, liability insurance, clearances, or the supervision you have to pay for before getting licensed. While it would not solve all the problems, it would take a lot of the risk out of becoming a social worker during a time when we are in a mental health crisis and desperately need them.

Right now the bill is stuck in committee because they refuse to fucking vote since last year, and I need help bullying them to get a move on.

The guy who needs to okay a vote is Frank Burns of House District 72. And before it is brought up, no he is not our rep, but he is amongst the group of people who make laws for ALL of PA, not just his constituents. Ergo, he works for us, and can be contacted regardless. While it would hold more weight if you were his constituent, it is not necessary to express concern and urge action.

Edit: by bully I mean peer pressure them via annoying emails, not like actual harassment. Sorry if that was unclear!

With the rising cost of living and the need for more social workers and therapists, becoming a counselor is not feasible for many who would be otherwise qualified because of how expensive it is to work the required practicuum and internship without pay. This bill would resolve to amend this issue by providing funding for therapy and social work students that are currently recieving schooling so that they can afford to stay in school and pay it forward through their work in our communities. I am asking that you bring this bill forward for a vote and put the full weight of your support behind it, so that it may progress through Congress and provide aid for our future essential workers, and by association, all of Pennsylvania. Hi everyone, looking for a good summer lax league in the area. All of my research led to the Lenape summer league but when I reached out I didn’t get a response and the website was down for a week or 2. Anyone know what happened or have any recommendations for other leagues? Best I could find was ulax Philly or central Jersey but both are pretty far.

Despite 48% counted Brooks currently leads in all four counties after early votes have been counted. Counting of election day votes has started in Northhampton county where Brooks lead has held firm. He currently holds over 40% of the vote which is 18% ahead of McClure who sits in 2nd place currently at 22% with Crosswell currently in third with 21%. Brooks is also currently sitting at 99% odds on betting sites to win the primary.

Ryan McKenzie flipped PA-07 in 2024 by 1.0% and will most likely lose given the very favorable national environment for democrats in 2026 with the RCP sitting at D+7.0. A 9.5% swing towards democrats from 2024 and has been growing as Trumps popularity declines. Bob Brooks isnt just the democratic nominee for 2026 he will very likely be our house representative by 2027.

looking for a psychologist recommendation. I got a 16 page long list from my insurance company but I feel like I need a therapist just to find a therapist. West End Counseling was on the list. I also heard some people like Anwari Counseling. I’m closer to Allentown rather than Bethlehem but if they do virtual appts that wouldn’t be an issue. I think I want someone certified in EMDR to deal with some PTSD trauma. it’s hard to find reviews of many of the docs on the list. Any recommendations?
