Cheaper grocery stores?

Ever since I was diagnosed with prediabetes, my grocery bill has skyrocketed. All me and my sister buy are fruits, vegetables, chicken and sugar-free / unsalted cooking ingredients and we are suffering! We're spending between $80 and $120 per WEEK on groceries! Does anyone know of a place that sells these things for less? Everything at GIANT costs $9.99 and I swear Walmart charges you twice as much to have things delivered.

Why can't my 4K TV receive a 4K signal?

I have a Retrotink 4K, and a 4K TV, but for some reason, whenever I try any of the 4K options, I just get a black screen. It only seems to work with 1080p. Why can my 4K TV only receive 1080p signals? I'm new to this and am only slightly tech-savvy.

What is this and where can I buy one?

Looked all over The Home Depot and couldn't find any. Even the staff don't know what it is.

"How dare you slightly inconvenience me?!"

So, for context, I'm a bus driver. One of the routes I drive goes through a residential area with lots of narrow streets. These streets are not wide enough for the bus and another vehicle to pass each other in opposite directions, so if I see that there's someone already in the block, I wait for them, and if someone stupidly enters the block after I've entered, I make them back up to the beginning of the block.

Today, I was doing the same route. I was almost at the end of the block when a white SUV entered. There wasn't enough space for both of us to go, so he had to back up.

He started to back up, but then he went full bitch mode, stopped his SUV and refused to back up any further. (I'll never understand why people do this. All it does is waste time. They act like you told them to drop a large stone on their foot.)

The only way to get this idiot to move was to tell him, "I'm going to call the cops if you don't move." He moved, but he hesitated. He had to contemplate if "besting the bus" was worth getting arrested over. People who lived on that street and even other people in cars were yelling at him to back up, but it took threatening to call the cops for him to think about backing up.

How are we supposed to get rid of our TV's?

We have some TV's in our house that no longer work. We tried throwing them away, but the trash collectors refused to take them. We tried recycling them, but despite them probably having a lot of useful copper, glass and plastic in them, the recycling truck won't take them either. So how do we get rid of them? They're just collecting dust in our garage.

How to keep my garage warm in the winter and cool in the summer?

We're currently in the process of cleaning out our garage ASAP, so we can put our red-eared slider in a much larger water basin and give her much-needed space. (We have given her the largest size fish tank that PetSmart sells, but it's still not enough.) We're in a hurry because we just found out that she's female and are trying to build a proper habitat for her to lay eggs.

The main issue we have is that we live in Pennsylvania and it's COLD in the winter. So cold that it's even cold with the heat on. It's also extremely hot during the summer time. How can we maintain the proper temperature in this garage?

Also, how do you get your turtle to let you pick them up? I've seen so many videos where someone picks up their turtle and they don't attack, but our turtle always scratches at us when we need to move her. We have to wear protective gloves because she likes to dig her claws into our skin and she's really mean about it, too. She also bites.

Red Eared Slider keeps aggressively trying to escape

Our red eared slider keeps trying to climb out of the tank. At first I thought maybe the water was too hot, so I turned the heater off and that seemed to calm him down at first, but later, I noticed him trying to break out of the basking area by aggressively pushing his shell against the walls, angrily scraping the ground with his claws and making loud grunting noises. I've also noticed him swimming at the wall at full speed (but he always stops when I try to film him). I've also noticed him splashing loudly.

We placed a curtain over the glass to give him a place to hide because we read that turtles hate glass walls, but lately, he realized that he can use the curtain as leverage to pull himself out, so he keeps ripping the curtain down and trying to use it to escape.

What is up with him? He's usually not like this.

MEMC won't stay off!

I just bought a 75-in TV, Philips-24NA-4K, 75PQL7456/F7, BXQA2608102707, and I immediately regret my decision. This TV has a "feature" called "MEMC" where it basically inserts frames in-between frames using AI (eye-roll). It's awful, so I turned it off. I turned the TV back on later that day, and it's back on. I have to turn MEMC off manually every single time I turn this TV on. It's the only picture option it won't save. Why are they trying to force AI on me so much? I chose to turn it off, why won't you just let me keep it off?!

Also, when going to a streaming platform such as Netflix, it automatically turns MEMC back on, even if I turned it off 5 seconds ago.

"It's a waste of taxpayers' dollars"

For those of you who think public transit is a waste of money, I got some bad news about traffic lights. I've been a bus driver for 4 years, and so far, I've seen an uncomfortable amount of traffic light poles get destroyed by cars. I've seen traffic light poles that are tied to a power utility pole with rope, so it won't fall. Poles with horrible dents in them from past accidents, poles that have been hit so many times, the lights are out of alignment, and even poles that look like they're waiting for one last wind storm to completely destroy them.

I've seen the process of traffic light poles being replaced over and over again, and every time, I shake my head in disbelief at how much money this one city is wasting on just traffic lights!

First they dig new holes for wooden or metal poles. These will support the temporary wire-mounted lights. Then they hang cables from them to support the replacement lights. While the replacement lights are working, they dig ANOTHER hole for ANOTHER metal pole to replace the wire-mounted lights. (apparently, wire-mounted lights are more susceptible to wind) Then they buy MORE brand new lights to replace the wire-mounted ones because those can't be hung on poles.

Where do the lights go when they get rid of them? I have no idea.

Sometimes they only replace the pole that got knocked down, but I've seen accidents where that one pole being knocked down destroyed the entire system everything had to be replaced.

There's a traffic light I regularly pass that has been hit twice! The first time was so bad, there was a car in the lobby of an adjacent apartment, on a road where the speed limit is only 25 mph. The second time happened early this winter, so I guess someone forgot what snow was. This time, they should just give up and leave it the way it is.

There's this one intersection that has had a rental trailer-mounted traffic light on it for over a year. I'm guessing because they don't have enough money to replace it.

Traffic lights are a waste of taxpayers dollars.

"No Japanese Subtitles available for this video" (Disney+)

So I'm new here. I tried to use Migaku with Disney+, but only the target language subtitles appear and it says, "No Japanese Subtitles available for this video." Is there a way to fix this?

Fuck car shows

It's so infuriating the amount of traffic car shows cause. This morning, there was this neverending line of Jeeps all going to a Jeep show and one of them had the nerve to block the intersection with his Jeep and wave all the other Jeeps through, ignoring several traffic cycles.

It's really messed up how a pedestrian can get a ticket for ignoring a traffic light, but a car driver can just randomly decide they have the authority to direct traffic and the cops are nowhere to be found.

The self-importance of car drivers knows no bounds. They think they own everything and the world revolves around them. I hate car shows.

It's so weird that these food companies decided that Vitamin C MUST taste sweet or else.

Me and my sister love cooking Japanese meals, but most of the meals in our cookbooks were particularly healthy, so I bought a Japanese medical grade cookbook for diabetes. I haven't gotten to any of the recipes yet because I'm still reading the intro. Lots of important information. It was written by food doctors employed by a hospital.

In this book, it said, "If you're struggling with addiction to snacks, try coming up with one or two 'cheat days' per week when you can have a snack." It explained further, don't pig out on sweets, but eat one snack as a dessert with a meal. They explained that your body processes sugar more efficiently when eaten with something else, rather than by itself.

I was like, "I can't do just two days," so I started with three. Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday.

After a while, I noticed my appetite for sweets was decreasing. I caved and ate a pack of Reese's while shopping and felt nauseous afterwards. Later, on a different day, I ate one of those mini packs of Pringles and the same thing happened.

This Sunday, I reached out to grab a snack to eat with dinner, but I was so full from breakfast, the thought of eating an additional snack made me nauseous. Those chocolate bars at the checkout aisle used to call out to me, but today, I didn't hear anything. I have successfully removed Sunday from my list of cheat days.

This is a "sidewalk" in front of a dealer. They literally couldn't care less about people with disabilities. Couldn't even be bothered to build a ramp up to the property. Seeing how they park their cars on it, they clearly have no respect for their own "sidewalk."
