I can't find the latest firmware for Philips BDP3000/05 (?)

I bought a secondhand Philips BDP3000/05 earlier this year and when it works, its great! An inexpensive bluray and dvd player - however sometimes it gets stuck on its "STARTING" phase of bootup.

I've gone through so many Google searches and Gemini questions about it and it seems that older Philips models of bluray players had a somewhat known bug in some firmware revisions, and the later/latest update patches the bug - which makes sense, except I can't find the patch for download anywhere!

As I understand it, formatting a standard usb drive to fat32, extracting the file to it and plugging it into the bluray player triggers it to automatically launch straight to the patch, and I believe 1142.1 is the last update Philips put out for the BDP3000 series. While the official Philips website does still have the webpage for the BDP3000/05 (with a downloads and updates tab), the file to download leads to a dead link (this causes an ethernet connection from the player to my router to also not work).

I found a couple of forum pages mention the update, but lead to either dead or questionable links.

Does anyone have the file they could pass onto me, or know of some archived pages that might host the file? It'd be greatly appreciated, I just wanna use my bluray player reliably 😅

Many thanks in advance!

Issue with philips baby monitor

Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my Philips Avent baby monitor (SCD923/26) and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.
Every time I plug the parent unit in to charge, it displays the message: “Please use provided adapter.”
The strange thing is that I am using the original Philips adapter and cable that came with the monitor. The monitor still charges normally and reaches 100%, but the warning appears every single time it’s plugged in.
I’ve checked that the cable is connected properly, and everything seems to work except for this warning.
Has anyone had this issue? Was it caused by the adapter, the USB-C port, the battery, or the parent unit itself? Were you able to fix it?
Thanks!

stuck on the logo

Hi everyone, can someone help me? I have a Philips TV, model number 55PFL6900/F8 A. It gets stuck on the Philips logo; does anyone know how to get past that? Is there a fix, or should I just throw it in the trash?

World's First Dolby Vision 2 OLED TV Is Here, and It's from Philips

Not a brand I expected to make this move first, but here we are.

Philips just announced the OLED811, OLED911, and OLED951, making it the first OLED brand to support Dolby Vision 2. Samsung doesn't do Dolby Vision at all, and LG is straight up skipping Dolby Vision 2 for 2026. And tbh from a smart home perspective, this is the one worth paying attention to.

The reason it works is the MediaTek Pentonic 800 powering it, which is currently the only TV SoC capable of running Dolby Vision 2. What makes this relevant for smart home setups is Light Sense, part of Dolby Vision 2 Max, which actually reads your room's ambient lighting and adjusts the picture automatically.

Philips also added AmbiScape this year, which extends their Ambilight effect to smart bulbs from Hue, IKEA, and Nanoleaf via Matter.

So the TV is now talking to your whole room, which is kinda insane right😅

Moreover, four HDMI 2.1 ports, 4K at 165Hz, 4,500 nits on the flagship panel, and TitanOS replacing Google TV make it even more interesting.

And after reading about it, I feel Philips kind of just won that race without making much noise about it.

Philips Roku TV Ambilight Off Center

See video. Turned the TV on tonight and immediately saw the built in Ambilight is off center now. No way to fix or adjust. I assume there was an update (I now see Lounge in the Ambilight settings that I don’t recall seeing before.) I am not seeing any other posts about this issue, so please comment if this has happened to you.

This is super distracting and makes Ambilight useless until it’s fixed.

This is the Philips 65 Class 7875 Series 4 K Ultra HD Ambilight Roku Smart TV from Sam’s Club in the USA.

Philips DVD player connections to smart tv?

is there ANY reason to use the RCA plugs to make the connection to the tv instead of the HDMI cable? And just to be clear, as I'm pretty bad at tech, this is an either/or set up, right? There's no need to connect both RCA plugs AND HDMI, right?
