I've been thinking, watching, and experimenting with short-stop for a very long time, and I just couldn't figure out how it works. Many have said that this is a smoother stop than just releasing the W key.

It works like this:

You drive on cruise control, press the short stop key, the tank stops, you fire a shot and the tank automatically continues moving on cruise control.

Many people may have known, but for all 855 hours in the game I did not know and could not understand.

I hope this thread helps those who are also trying to understand.
