where to continue after injury?

i was on week 7 day 2. injured myself from a fall, nothing to do with running but bruised my lower back pretty badly and the impact of jumping/running is painful. i’ve had 4 days off so far and i think it’ll be at least a week out, hopefully not much more. should i carry on from week 7? don’t know if it’ll be too tough but i really don’t want to do intervals again 😭

w7 d1

felt amazing this morning! really proud i kept my pace so consistent the whole way through this run, this was nearly 1 whole min / km quicker than my w6d3!

was really focusing on my form today.

unfortunately only ran for 23:30 not 25 mins coz my nhs app paused and so i didn’t have steve cram telling me when i was done so i just stopped when i finished the route i’d mapped out and I had expected it would take me longer than it did.

feeling so much more capable in my own body it’s amazing!!

injury advice

did week 6 day 3 on tuesday at like 7am. was actually a super slow pace compared to my usual. felt fine all day. then woke up on wednesday (yesterday) with bad pain in the back of my upper calf, just below my knee. some sort of muscle strain that hurt even when sitting down and was worse when my leg straightened. with the way my life is set up i can’t really avoid walking so i did 7.5k steps yesterday despite the pain although i found on the walks it felt better as i went and it loosened up although overall it got worse and worse throughout the course of yesterday. would have done my next run this morning but didn’t due to this but when i woke up today i had no pain at all and it’s completely fine. how long should i wait til my next run?

Super proud of myself! First try and I felt I could have kept going if i wanted (i didn’t want). after hitting about the 10 minute point i knew i could finish it and was in the flow and it actually got easier!! really pleased. not had to repeat any runs yet and i thought this would be where that changed so glad i proved myself wrong!

actually not too worried about it but i’ve got the 20 min run coming up. i find the coaches on the nhs app that talk to you frequently with encouragement and updates on how long is left helpful. which coach would you all recommend to keep me motivated during w5d3?

these are my stats from week 4 day 3. i know it’s not about pace at this stage but i’m super proud of how much my pace has already improved!

i’m a little nervous for week 5 as it seems a little make or break. any tips to get through it?
