Sleeping post surgery

I was wondering if anyone could reassure me :).

I have had lower jaw surgery plus a genioplasty. As a result my breathing has definitely improved through my nose in terms of quality/ amount of air intake. However when I go to sleep I am waking up like I’ve been on a night out the day before. My brain is intense and I feel it’s almost impossible to get out of bed. I did not have this before surgery as a class 2, 12mm overbite. One thing that has happened is that the surgery whether it be jaw or chin has cause some lip incompetence however I can close them.

Has anyone had surgery experienced this and it got noticeable better I am only 2 months and a bit post op.

Hi so if any of you have a few minutes to spare I’d be appreciative.

6 weeks - LJS + Genio

Basically I have been suffering mentally since my surgery. Before surgery I had got myself in a place where I did not mind my appearance and I felt confident.

I am posting this to have some honest opinions as I believe people close to me might either not want to hurt me or are not fussed.

The first 8 photos are pre surgery, they include a mix of me holding my jaw back as far as possible and me posturing my jaw forward which widened my jaw in appearance to close what ended up being a 12mm overbite.

I got surgery because I did not want to hold my jaw forward my whole life, it did not feel authentic. I had no joint issues. Sleeping has always been an issue due to anxiety. It was an NHS referral.

The next blue shirt 3 are post lower Jaw and genio plasty. However they involve correct tongue posture which helps.

Black shirt is tongue just touching roof.

I have received comments in regards to maybe widening my face since surgery probably brought on because I told them I was not sure about the surgery. Which part of me believes it’s because they were use to my postured face.

I feel a lot less confident and feel like I have lost my presence. I have lost 6kg during the process.

I know the change is not dramatic but I don’t know if going through all of this to look worse sits well lmao.

I think it’s also a combination of lips not sitting right at the moment and my teeth still don’t fit together so it’s awkward in my mouth.

I have a long history of insecurity so I appreciate this could also be body dysmorphia. And I do believe I find my side angle to be better

But was overall hoping for some opinions.

Oh and lower angles are definitely worse as it makes my jaw look smaller.

Ps (I know I’m obsessive) I will probably delete this soon after posting as it makes me uncomfortable.
