Almost died last night…
My wife and I went for a one night trip in Colville National Forest. We hiked out about 3.5 miles and found one spot left. It wasn’t ideal, but it was our first trip of the year and we were excited.
Long story short, this tree fell about 5 feet from our tent. Would have killed us both. Woke us up from a dead sleep. We learned a valuable lesson last night, and hope this helps people going forward. Do your campsite checks, and make sure it’s safe. Don’t settle on a site if it is not safe.
Edit for spelling error.
