Can a oftball Dad use baseball glove?

Daughters are getting into travel softball now so I’m looking to upgrade my glove to something mid level, around $200 or so. The idea is this would be a glove I can use as they progress from 8/10U through high school.

Problem is any fast pitch specific gloves are small on my hand (I assume because they’re intended for women) and the slow pitch gloves are all massive 13” or larger and local options they all seem cheap. I’m thinking I could just buy a baseball glove and use that. Is this a terrible idea? I was thinking 12.5” or 12.75” glove and breaking it in with a softball.

Any thoughts?

Oops, I meant softball

I’m in love. NGD Classic Tan by INB.

Just wow. If this was one of those “Is it Cake?” episodes where they had to make a cake look so perfect that it’s confused for a real a ball glove, I’d probably say this is cake cause it’s so damn sweet and perfect to the eye. Gimme a fork! I wanna eat it.

12.7” model, and it’s a stunner. I’ll see you back on here in about 57 years when it’s fully broken in for a full review.

Grace Gloves leather?

I'm looking to order a Grace Glove during the upcoming Memorial Day sale. It'll be a 13.5" slowpitch outfield glove.

Does anybody have any input/knowledge/experience on which leather option to go with - Korean kip vs Japanese kip?

Any other tips when ordering? I already PM'd GDG to see about a custom logo swap, but wondering if there's any other insider knowledge to know about.

Glove break-in tool

Saw someone earlier that created a breaking tool for a recip saw. Just wanted to share my version that cost about $20. Its a Reciprotools adapter with a hanger bolt driver and a hanger bolt screwed into a baseball. Made for a quick break in.

NGD Yardley sports

Decided to try out a smaller brand so far from feel it’s very light and great stiffness out of the box gonna see how these next few weeks go with the break in

Grace customs

I heard Grace is running a special for memorial Day, but not seeing anything pop up? Does anyone have an idea when their sale will go live? I am wanting to get a customer glove or two, but waiting to see if I can get a lower price.

What first base mitt should I get?

Looking to get a new first base mitt and wanted to hear what everyone recommends.

Not sure if I should go 12.5 or 12.75 and I’m open to any brand. Been looking at Rawlings HOH and Wilson A2000s but wanted opinions from people who actually use them.

Jax vs Mizuno

What are peoples opinion on Jax fielding gloves vs Mizuno pro gloves? I just picked up a Jax glove after watching some reviews and it just doesn't feel/smell right to me. I wasn't sure if it was a bad batch, bad expectation, or maybe my current Mizuno pro is just overall a nicer glove? I'm comparing a Jax LJ-10 to my current Mizuno GMP-700AXO, if that helps.

Zett Prostatus Special Edition Catchers Mitt -NGD

@baseballglovestc on IG

Just got this in. The Zett special edition Prostatus gloves have some top notch craftsmanship. Right up there with Mizuno Haga and Ryu. While the infield line of the Special Edition series often leans into European Kip for responsiveness, this mitt opts for high-density, Prostatus North American Steerhide. Below is the details about the mitt.

This Zett featurez professional-grade leather processed in the Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, the epicenter of world-class baseball leather production. The hides undergo a proprietary multi-stage tanning process specifically designed for Zett's Pro Status line, balancing high-tensile strength with the refined, consistent grain finish required for professional-level equipment."

It is a "Mori-type" pattern, named after the legendary Japanese backstop Tomoya Mori.

Unlike the wider, flatter mitts common in the States, this is a 'Tate-gata' (vertical) profile. It’s compact by design. The goal isn't just to block the ball; it’s to funnel it. By shifting the hinge to close thumb-to-pinky, it creates an incredibly deep, secure pocket right where your hand needs it for an instant transfer.

Purchasing from Walmart

I’ve seen a bunch of posts about Walmart sending the wrong glove to people on here after purchasing on sale.

Is it a reputable place to buy a glove, is it a specific seller? Should I be hesitant to purchase via wal mart?

Thanks

Forgive the photo overload, but this just arrived and I've wanted one (for my player, not me) since it first came out.

Need help figuring out pricing for an old glove

I’ve got this GPS2-600RT I had back in college. I only play softball these days so I’m looking to part with it. What’s a decent price to sell one of these for online? I can’t seem to find anything to base it off of since I only see them for sale as new.

Casual Baseball Glove

I’m looking for a cheapish mitt to use while having a catch or playing pickup casually. What’s a good option that will last a long time (im 19).
