I recently purchased a DJI Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo from the eBay seller 102_store, which I believe is a South Korea–market unit.
I’m trying to confirm a couple things from anyone with direct experience using the same seller or a similar international unit in the United States:
1. FCC vs CE/KC transmission behavior in the U.S.
I understand DJI drones don’t explicitly show an “FCC mode,” and that transmission power is determined by firmware/region policy rather than a user setting.
For those who have imported this exact unit (or similar Korea/Asia-market DJI drones):
Does it operate in the U.S. with full FCC-level transmission power (range/bitrate comparable to US retail units)?
Or does it remain limited to CE/KC power levels despite being flown and activated in the U.S.?
I’m specifically trying to determine whether these units effectively behave the same as US-sold models once operated in the United States, or if they are consistently power-limited regardless of location.
2. FAA Remote ID behavior/compliance
I also understand that on newer DJI firmware, Remote ID is typically broadcast automatically rather than shown as a visible toggle in DJI Fly.
For anyone with this same seller/unit:
Does it broadcast Remote ID normally when powered on and GPS locked in the U.S.?
Is it detected properly by Remote ID scanners as expected under FAA Remote ID requirements?
If anyone has direct experience with this seller or has imported the same region variant, I’d really appreciate insight into whether these units behave identically to US-market drones in practice, or if there are persistent region-based limitations.
