Small cheap car charging speeds
With the growth of small cheap EVs like the new Twingo and Citroen EC3 Urban with small batteries and small ranges , why do manufacturers lumber them with such slow charging speeds for instance the new EV3 urban has 30kw charging speed . Is there a technical reason ? For instance the battery is so small it can’t take faster charging ? If you could have an EV with a small battery but decent speed charging it would charge in say 5 or 10 minutes , surely that would be a selling point ? Yeah they have a small battery and range but you can charge them up in 5 minutes and be in your way .
Is it purely technical or is it the usual car company thing of limiting the charging because they’re cheap cars ? Or does it actually cost a lot more to fit a faster charger ?
