hey,

i’ve been working on a game called SURGE on and off for a while now, and i’ve reached the point where i don’t think i should be trying to build all of it on my own anymore

it started years ago as just ideas and drawings, and over time i turned it into something playable. it’s a 3D rhythm based platformer with a focus on movement, timing, and how the gameplay flows with the music

i’ve also made a few smaller games before, so i understand what it takes to actually finish projects, but this one is just bigger than what i can realistically handle solo

This build is an early prototype with 3 playable levels. The core gameplay loop is there, and the levels are fully playable, but there are still rough edges in terms of feel, visuals, and overall polish.

The project originally started as concepts and drawings in late 2017 and slowly turned into something playable over time. At this point, I’m mainly focused on refining the gameplay feel and seeing how far the idea can go.

i’m mainly looking for someone experienced in Unity or similar who:

  • cares about gameplay feel and responsiveness
  • understands timing and player feedback
  • wants to take something that already exists and help push it further

this isn’t paid upfront, just being straight about that. i handle the music and overall direction, you’d be handling development and helping shape the final product

not trying to micromanage everything, but i do care about keeping the core idea intact

if this sounds interesting, reach out. i can send more gameplay, the build, and everything else

even if you’re not looking to work on it, feedback is always welcome

thanks

Working on a 3D Rhythm Game Prototype, Looking for a Developer to Help Build It Out - SURGE by Dimension IV Hypergames

hey,

i’ve been working on a project called SURGE on and off for long while and wanted to get some eyes on it

it’s a 3D rhythm based platformer, and i’ve got a playable build going right now

i’m not going to go too deep into the design here, but the core systems are in place and it’s at the point where it’s actually playable and starting to feel like something

right now i have

  • working mechanics and menu
  • a few playable stages
  • one level that’s the most complete
  • custom music for the game

main thing i’ve been focused on lately is getting the feel right, especially movement and how everything flows together

if anyone has experience with gameplay feel, camera systems, or just wants to take a look, i’d appreciate feedback

also, if someone is interested in potentially collaborating and helping build it out further, feel free to reach out

Working on a 3D Rhythm Game Prototype, Looking for a Developer to Help Build It Out - SURGE by Dimension IV Hypergames

i’ve been working on a game project called SURGE on and off for a while now, and i think i’ve hit the point where i shouldn’t be trying to do all of it myself anymore

it started back around 2017 as just ideas and drawings, but over time i actually built it into something playable

i’ve made a few smaller games before in Desolation, Desolation 2, Basketpong, and Land Nav, so i know how finishing projects goes

SURGE is a 3D rhythm based platformer, and it’s just bigger than what i can realistically handle solo at this point

current progress

  • working build with core mechanics and menu
  • 3 playable stages
  • one level that’s the most complete and defines the direction
  • full set of music made specifically for the game

i can send gameplay and the current build if you’re interested

what i’m looking for

someone who

  • works in Unity or something similar
  • cares about gameplay feel and polish
  • actually wants to stick with a project

main focus would be refining what’s already there and building it out further

collaboration

this is a revenue share setup, no upfront pay

i handle creative direction and music
you handle development

not trying to micromanage everything, but i do care about keeping the core idea intact

also just to be clear, this isn’t starting from nothing, it’s already playable

if you’re interested

DM me and i’ll send gameplay and more details

even if you’re not trying to work on it, i’ll still take feedback

Very Respectfully,

D4
