I am a parent of a kid at LNFI, the French immersion school in SPPS, and just heard we are having trouble filling our third Kindergarten class.

I'm kind of blown away and assume that people must not know the place exists? If you are looking skeptically at your neighborhood school and worried about the lottery at other immersions and magnets ... we apparently don't have a wait?

LNFI has strong performance numbers, a close-knit parent community, and lots of extra-curricular stuff (including a low-cost string music program on site). A partial French immersion program continues at Hidden River and Central High; graduating students can get certified for French college entrance at the end. They have bussing from all neighborhoods, so you don't have to drive.

Happy to answer questions, etc. If you know parents facing a tough school situation, pass this along.
