What is a high lifetime stitch count on a machine?
I recently went into my dealer to ask around pricing and turnaround times for servicing my Bernina 880. When I shared that I purchased my machine at 10 million stitches and have already racked up an additional million in the past three months, one of the workers was appalled and jokingly said you should need a new machine at 10 million stitches. That struck me as really odd given that embroidery designs can often be over 100k stitches, and with proper care, oiling, and servicing intervals, my impression is that a machine can easily last up over 50 million stitches. (especially if you’re buying a Bernina which newly retail for more than the price of a car!)
Obvious, I’m talking about a single needle machine in my case but curious as well if there’s any differential for a multi needle as well.
