Hey guys,

Two days ago I received a message from a friend (whose account was hacked, but I didn't know) saying she had accidentally reported me and that my account could be disabled at any time. Trusting her, she gave me a Discord username to contact to resolve the issue. This user asked for personal information, which I gave her, reluctantly handing over my username and password. She made me create a secondary account to message her while she accessed my main account, asking for money to prove the "legitimacy" of the account so it could be returned. That's when I realized it was a scam due to the strangeness of the request. I refused, and she ended up blocking me. When I tried to log back into my account, two-step verification was activated, preventing me from accessing it. Luckily, I was able to save the associated email address, giving me full control. I didn't have any 2FA enabled.

I've already contacted Discord support (since the attacker didn't when they took my account) and I'm waiting for a response. Is there any possibility of recovering the account or should I opt to delete it?

Any advice on what to do in these cases? I've already sent parts of the conversation, my login credentials from another site, and I've mentioned that people close to me are receiving messages from me with the same scam. I don't know what else I can do besides wait.
