Is my attempt to be Christ-like to a mentally ill co-worker worth it?
I work with someone who self admitted to struggles with mental and behavorial health. Somedays, hes a loud mouth comedian with dirty jokes and wants to be everyones friend. but, then come his bad days, he shouts, acts with intentioanl aggression, throws stuff, etc. he wont hurt anyone, given cameras.
Management is either incompetent or too lazy to take any action, but thats not the point.
With the person in question, he has openly said he strongly dislikes me, which did bother me at first, as ive made a 100% effort to get along with him. Furthermore, in his tantrums and fits, i dont budge and i stand my ground, calmly too.
The thing is, despite all the non-sense, and the anger it can make me feel, I want to be christ-like, to have patience, to forgive. I say that, but everytime i seem to show grace, theres another problem from this person.
So, i feel i must ask, am i wasting my energy and diligence, because honestly, trying to be unconditional just doesnt seem to work here.
