as a rule of thumb, nys pharmacies will not refill a non controlled rx if the date exceeds one year. however, there is no law in ny stating this as far as i know. in the education law regarding refills, all it says is as long as there is refills. there is no constraint on the date. most time is the company policy not the state. please enlighten me if im wrong with the specific statute regarding expiration date.
