Need help before junking the car
So, I recently purchased a 2015 ford focus SE with the DCT. Got it for cheap because of a “ massive oil leak “ Upon taking the car home I found the rear main seal as the only leak. Dropped the transmission, replaced the seal and here’s where everything went wrong.. It was my first transmission job and I didn’t seat it properly or line up the yellow mark on the clutch with the mark on the flywheel. I forced the transmission in with the bell housing bolts. Went to turn the crankshaft and the engine wouldn’t turn over I knew something was binding. So I dropped the transmission again, clutch spun freely so I assumed it was ok, no real marks warps or cracks on the flywheel either. I lined up the marks and wiggled the transmission in until it was properly seated then ran down the bolts and finished the job. Engine spins freely, no resistance that I could feel by hand. Started the car and it goes into all gears fine, when I accelerate to 5-15mph and brake the engine and transmission lunge forward. This is my problem, It’s not the mounts as i’ve inspected all of them and they’re all torqued to spec. Could I have damaged the clutch or something in the transmission by the initial improper installation? Or could this be something as simple as relearning the TCM? It jerks hard enough to make a metal on metal popping sound and the engine visibly moves/ slams violently. As if all the mounts were blown but they’re not. I can’t find much information on this and any information helps.
