Golden Pothos issues

Golden Pothos issues

Hello,

I bought these golden pothos in 12" hanging baskets with drainage from Home Depot and they seem to be dying a slow death and I'm not sure why. It seems like the strands (idk the technical name) turn to brittle sticks and can be plucked off with barely any effort. I went to water them when taking the attached picture. Any advice is appreciated in advance!

About:

- Light: exposed to a west facing window however, do not receive direct light as they are hung up above the sun line in my apartment

- Water: watered every ~2 weeks give or take, using tap water

- watered until water started draining through the bottom of the pot

- Soil: I haven't changed the soil they came packed with, have added some indoor plant mix soil on top to even things out

- had the plants since November 2025

- haven't changed the watering routine or placement
