The Amanda and Wes drama overshadowed a great season
While the “scandal” has created buzz and anticipation for an explosive reunion, I feel like it’s overshadowed what has been one of the best seasons of summerhouse. It felt like this season was about healing broken relationships, moving on, and growth. Wes and Ciara were back on good terms. Lindsay and Carl finally talked through their issues and started trying to heal from their breakup. Amanda looked like she might finally be taking steps toward figuring out herself outside of Kyle and their marriage. Even Jesse seemed to realize he wanted a real partner and may be ready to move on from the bachelor lifestyle.
The ending was one of the most emotional moments I’ve ever seen on this show. Regardless of the inevitable Wes and Amanda drama. The group felt fun, vulnerable, messy in a real way, and authentic.
Which makes it even more frustrating that all of it is now being overshadowed and potentially ruined by this “scandal” involving West and Amanda. It honestly feels like Summer House next season and going forward won’t be the same. Who knows if we’ll even see Amanda, Kyle, Ciara, or West return. We may end up with none of them or only a couple. Either way I’m not sure how Summerhouse evolves from this. Thoughts?
