Hi, I purchased a ticket for a Mysterious Skin 4k restoration showing in Chicago for Wednesday Aug. 19. I got a call last night that Alamo didn't have the rights anymore to show the film or something like that so it was canceled. The person on the phone said they could refund me and I said sure, but then he said I would need to say my full credit card number and exp. date to receive the refund??? I said NO HAHAHA I'm not doing that and he said okay you'll just have credit for another movie of your choice in the future. Looked online and the showings for mysterious skin aren't up anymore...The number they called from also matched the Alamo Drafthouse phone number in Chicago....but I thought this experience was odd/not normal. Anyone had similar experiences???

There’s a film I want to see but it’s only showing in a small theater in LA. Previously played during Tribeca Film Festival. I’m in contact with directors trying to help them show it in Chicago.

I’m familiar with music box, facets, Davis, pickwick. But have any locals had success with a specific theater to show being a small movie here. Even if it’s for a weekend run?
