ATTENTION ALL SAMSUNG USERS (Anti-theft measures)
[Original Post is about Autoblocker ans is now modified/deleted to suit up-to-date information]
Reason: Unfortunately, after an undisclosed test, autoblocker, even set to maximum, can still be bypassed, and recovery mode can be accessed. Still it is recommended to potentially buy you time for tracking your phone in case it is stolen.
Anti-Theft Measures (just precautions, do not guarantee device immunity):
Turn on Autoblocker in case you have disabled it after installing an APK or PC Emulation software. This blocks your device from entering recovery mode using the forced restart method from where a thief can power off your device. (Recovery Mode is entered by [Don't do this if you fear a green line appearing, I do not take any responsibility for that happening]: Volume down and power button hold, all while plugged in to a computer, and when the screen turns black you go volume up and power button hold; controls are: volume up to go up, volume down to go down, power button to select highlighted option). Turning Autoblocker on just potentially buys you some time in some cases. Your phone can still be powered off using a different method. Turn on 'Offline Finding' and other 'Theft Protection' features in settings. Offline finding is very crucial for finding your device without internet connection to it, but thieves will use a faraday bag to cut it from the outside world so beware.
Another important tip, PLEASE immediately switch to an E-Sim if your phone supports it, thieves cannot take the e-sim out and insert it into their devices to intercept your verification SMS or stuff (extremely sensitive and dangerous info for all your accounts), but they can with a regular physical sim until you do something about it with your sim carrier.
If you want to stop that with a physical sim, then you can turn on the PIN on your sim and change it to something you remember (BIG DISCLAIMER, BE CAREFUL AND SENSIBLE WITH THIS SETTING AS YOUR SIM OR PHONE CAN BE LOCKED OUT VERY EASILY, DO NOT ENTER YOUR SCREEN LOCK PIN IN THERE AS YOU GET 3 TRIES FOR THIS ONLY, CONTACT SIM CARRIER SUPPORT TO HELP IF LOCKED OUT) go to settings--> connections --> sim manager --> more sim settings --> sim card security --> lock sim card, search your default sim card pin online, verify if it actually is the pin, and enter it once. If it does not work on first attempt, I suggest leave it off, DO NOT fully finish the attempts, EVER. However if it does work, change the PIN to something you WILL remember (Maybe same as the screen lock? Write it down too) it asks for this upon every restart, and will ask for it if the sim is taken out and put into another device, so your sim is safe from interception of SMS.
DISCLAIMER: I am writing this all in good faith, I do not intend that anyone locks themselves out of their phone or accidentally wipes all their data, and I do not take any responsibility for it in case it happens due to user error or my instructions.
Unfortunately no method on consumer's end makes your phone fully recoverable, besides some device rooting methods, but these are some precautions that can buy you time to track your phone. Stay safe out there!
