Bicep Tenodesis (possible surgery for chronic shoulder pain)

Anyone have any experience with shoulder surgery? Specifically with bicep tendon repair?

I have had chronic tendinitis in my bicep tendon for 20 years - it’s progressed to chronic inflammation and fluid. It hurts to do almost anything - using my mouse at work is agony. Physical Therapy is only marginally helpful. Current recommendation is surgery.

Problem is, this is my good side, my cane side. My other arm and fingers are almost worthless. Recovery takes months, I don’t think the Othopedic Dr gets just how limiting this will be for me.

I would be completely dependent; I’m not sure how I would feed and wash myself; but I’m in constant pain, so maybe it’s worth it?

I am not going to take off a couple weeks and try radical rest.
I’d appreciate thought and experiences with something like this.
