It finally happened!!

Idk the variety (threw the bag away during a bout of ADHD cleaning) but this Costco dahlia is finally blooming!! It’s the first bloom and I’m in love 😍. I’ve reading all your posts and not so patiently waiting for mine to finally bloom — just had to share!!

Despite being on this subreddit for 6 months and seeing all your warnings, I still did all the beginner mistakes. This poor bulb survived all of my meddling: peeking looking for root rot, too much water (killed 4 of its siblings), wrong fertilizer (thanks ChatGPT), negligence (gardener didn’t water when I went on vacation), black grow bag, the list goes on.

Hoping for more happy blooms. The bloom in the picture is next 🌸
