Hey everyone,
I’m planning a front-end suspension and steering refresh on my 2014 Silverado 1500 5.3L 4WD (High Country) with ~70k miles. I do regular oil changes, just drained and filled the transmission, drained and filled the coolant, but not much other scheduled maintenance, so I’m trying to get everything up to date and tighten up the ride/handling.
Goal is a “do it once, do it right” refresh — not a full lift build, just improve ride quality, steering feel, and overall tightness.
Here’s what I currently have in my cart:
Shocks
- Bilstein 5100 front & rear (0–1.85” adjustable front)
Upper Control Arms
- Moog CK623125 (driver side)
- Moog CK623126 (passenger side)
Tie Rods
- Moog EV800938 (inner tie rods) ×2
- Moog ES800948 (outer tie rods) ×2
Sway Bar
- Moog K700538 sway bar end links ×2
- Moog K200222 sway bar bushings (planning to confirm bar diameter before installing)
Misc
- Mobil 1 synthetic grease (for all Moog fittings)
- Stainless cotter pin assortment
Plan
- Install Bilsteins with my stock coils (likely ~1” front setting)
- Replace UCAs, full tie rods, sway links + bushings
- Grease all components after install
- After DIY the above, get a full alignment afterward at a shop
Questions for the group
- Does this look like a solid, balanced setup for a full front-end refresh?
- Anything here you would change (brand/part choice)?
- What else should I strongly consider replacing while I’m in there?
- Lower ball joints?
- Wheel hubs?
- Anything else commonly worn on these trucks?
- Anything I should watch out for during install (common pitfalls)?
Appreciate any feedback, I am trying to do this right the first time and avoid missing something obvious.
