Hi, I’m 18 when I was 14, I went through a really severe period with my mental health. I was hospitalized and put on multiple medications at once antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anti-anxiety meds, SSRIs, and anticonvulsants a whole cocktail of them. My prescriptions were changed almost monthly, either increasing doses or switching to new meds. At my highest i was taking 6 daily and at my lowest 3
About a year ago, I decided to stop taking everything. I felt like I had learned enough coping strategies from therapy to manage my mental health on my own, and overall I’ve been doing much better since then.
However, one issue has stuck around, I’ve been dealing with erectile dysfunction, and it hasn’t improved even after being off medication for over a year.
I’m wondering if this could be a long-term side effect from the medications I was on, or if it might be something else entirely. Has anyone experienced persistent side effects like this after stopping psychiatric meds?
