Long boring story, but could use some help. I’m not truck savvy, I’m just a girl. 🥴 Posting for my boyfriend just to see if you think it’s what we fixed. So we noticed probably a week ago now that our truck leaked coolant. Wasn’t a ton but my boyfriend couldn’t find anything that was leaking. Just a couple days ago I had parked after driving around town and after a few seconds of it being off it just starts leaking out like crazy from the passenger front, then stopped shortly after. Still had plenty of coolant. He checked for cracks, loose hoses, checked the radiator, overflow reservoir, anything we could think of trying to see where it came from. The truck never threw any lights or sounds saying it’s overheating. We got a pressure kit to try the cap and it wasn’t holding pressure. We THINK this was the issue. But we think the leaking came from the overflow as that’s where we seen drips but it’s unfortunately behind the entire front end so we took all that off before realizing it’s probably the cap. But the reservoir is hard to tell if it’s overfilled as the stick thing is useless with coolant liquid. But we feel like it’s running higher now idling or maybe the caps been bad for awhile and it just now decided to throw coolant out with the system not pressurized with a good cap? Picture is of the highest it’s got the smorning after driving around town. Fan will kick on about this temp and cool down a few. We did burp the system too and thinking it could’ve been overfilled but hard to tell. Are these temps normal? Does this sound like it was just a bad cap? What’s the best way to tell if it’s overfilled? Thanks guys!
