New Wheel and tire upgrade!

Got New wheels for Father's Day and I gotta admit, it really does change the look of my truck (1st pic After, 2nd Before)! I'm not a huge fan of big rims on a truck so I stuck with 18" gloss black wheels. For the tires I got the biggest that would fit on my truck without rubbing which are 295 70/18 (34.3in).

First Truck!

I got in a bad car accident a month ago in a sedan and needed something safer, and always loved Rams. Hemi Black express got it at 47.5k before taxes. Got it last day of the month. I think it was a pretty solid deal!

Black or Bronze?

Have a couple questions regarding some upgrades in the near future.

I'm switching to the Falken Wild Peak AT3W's as they're one of the best year round tires for Alberta Canada weather. I'm pretty confident in my wheel choice which is a Fuel D679 ( back version ) or a Fuel D681 ( bronze version ).

I'm torn 50/50 on whether I like the black or bronze more. Would like to see your guys opinion on which you think looks best but I also have some questions regarding tire, wheel, and leveling kit.

Truck is a 2026 Ram 1500 Laramie Night Edition. Stock wheels are I believe a 285/45/22 and I'd be switching to a 285/60/20. Will there be any rub at full lock or in reverse running this set up compared to stock? While keeping the ride height the same?

A leveling kit is something I'd like to do but that's more in the future where I'm looking to do the tires and wheels before then. But would like input on what brand or set up to achieve that. I'd be looking for something like a 1.5-2 inch lift on the front just to level out the truck. I've looked into the Bilstein 5100's but not sure if anyone's used those on a 26 yet even tho I assume they have.

Would also like to get a smoked version of the headlights and tailights eventually as well. Wouldn't mind recommendations for those if anyone has experience with a good set.

Thanks

Paint and Interior protection?

Has anyone done the paint and interior protection you can get through the dealerships ? I bought my Laramie a month ago and I’m obsessing about my kids getting my interior dirty and not being able to clean it.

What was your experience getting it done? Did it actually work and make your paint look nicer ?

Happy 4th of July!!

Threw the flag in the ram box tie downs and was all ready for festivities and my town straight up flooded cause the city didn’t turn on the pumps when we got 1.5 inches of rain in about 45 min. But did get a cool shot

No complaining just surprised

Was curious how cold the air coming out of my vents was, so I put a thermometer into the vent and it was blowing 47 degrees! I’ve never had a vehicle blow that cold. That was on max after about 10 minutes. I don’t have to leave it on high very long, usually back it off to speed 4 or 5 to maintain how I like it. My past vehicles were usually around 55-60. Some of these trucks have sucky lifters but they sure got the a/c right 🤪

462,323 miles. Original engine. Original transmission.

Been the owner for 14 years now of this 2005 Dodge ram 1500 HEMI 5.7 and I’ve stayed on top of the maintenance the whole time. Oil changes, transmission flush, fixing stuff before it turns into bigger problems. This truck’s never let me down.

My local mechanic has been working on Dodges for over 20 years and told me he’s never seen a 5.7 HEMI with this kind of mileage still running the original engine and transmission.

Hoping she’ll hit 500k.

You DON’T need a lawyer to start a Lemon Law claim. File it yourself first. Here’s what I learned after my 2026 Ram turned into a nightmare.

I wanted to make this post because I see so many people immediately saying, “Get a lawyer.”

You absolutely can if you want to, but don’t think you have to sit around waiting or spend money before doing anything.

Start documenting everything yourself.

I bought a brand new 2026 Ram 2500 last September. Around 150 miles later the problems started.

The truck developed a rough idle that shakes the whole truck. The radio failed and had to be replaced. Sensors were replaced. Part of the wiring harness was replaced. The check engine light came on. The dealer admitted they couldn’t fix the rough idle and told me they were waiting on a software update from Stellantis.
Months later they finally installed the update.
Instead of fixing it, the truck drives even worse now.
The RPMs stay high after letting off the gas, it shifts completely differently, the engine runs rough, and it honestly feels like a different truck than the one I bought.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned through this whole process is this:

-Keep every repair order.
-Write down every date.
-Keep track of every day the truck sits at the dealership.
-Save every email and text message.
-Write down who you spoke with.
-Open a case with the manufacturer yourself.
-Ask for a case number.
-Be polite but don’t let them brush you off.

A lot of people don’t realize you can start this process yourself. Manufacturers have customer care departments for exactly this reason. If things don’t go anywhere or they start giving you the runaround, you can always hire a lemon law attorney later.
Most people wait far too long because they think they have to hire a lawyer first. WHICH IS FALSE

Whether you eventually need one depends on how the manufacturer responds.

I’m sharing this because I wish someone had told me to start documenting everything on day one. It would’ve saved me a lot of headaches.
Has anyone else had Stellantis tell them they were “waiting on a software update” that either didn’t fix the truck or actually made it worse?

I am at a point where frustration and anger is taking over to be honest. Brand new RAM truck and its literally trash which is rare from what I see online. Never thought I would be the one buying the lucky one although I was one of the first people to buy the 2500 Warlock 2026 HD GAS Engine. Should have not done that.

I would love to hear from anyone who took the lemonlaw into their own hands and contacted stelantis. I feel like it’s wasting money hiring a lawyer. He isn’t doing anything and I barely get to talk to him.
