My friend got a Leo today how can I help him understand how much of a responsibility it is

I’ve had my adult leopard gecko for a few years now and my friends always been interested in getting a reptile after that, he has a Russian tortoise already who also lives in a 20 gal and isn’t taken care of well in my open though I know nothing about tortoises, however I know a lot about leopard geckos.

I will say apparently his grandma bought it for him from petco so it was a very sudden thing but he has done zero research and just bought a leopard gecko starter pack for it I told him to change the carpet out for paper towels and told him about proper lighting and that once the baby is older it will need a 40 gallon enclosure. I told him to got to Walmart tomorrow and get more hides but this baby is STRESSED and I’m really worried I just don’t think my friend understands what a responsibility this is.

He is younger and still a kid so I don’t really know how to go about saying these things I do believe he can be a good owner he just need help understanding a reptiles needs and the pet store did absolutely no help in this, maybe you could show your juvenile enclosures to give him an idea of what he needs?
