Developing an "Extreme Environment Preset" for Field Operations / Signal Reliability – Looking for Dev & Builder Input

Hey everyone, I wanted to start a fresh thread to clear up some confusion from a previous link and get some real technical feedback from fellow builders and developers who push their hardware past standard recreational limits. I'm an FAA Part 107 certified operator, independent engineer, and open-source developer. Right now, my main project goal is developing and refining an "Extreme Environment Preset" (focused heavily on Signal Reliability and low-resource logging features for a Field Operations Mode). I've previously contributed search and rescue preset work to the Betaflight firmware-presets repository (PR 570), and I'm trying to optimize configurations specifically for rapid deployment and signal resilience in high-interference or heavily obstructed environments. Instead of just testing in an isolated vacuum, I want to gather some community data and consensus from builders who have experience pushing hardware/firmware limits: Signal Fail-Safes: For those flying in high-RF noise or extreme environments, what specific link quality threshold configurations or packet rate balances (on ExpressLRS/Crossfire) have given you the most reliable recovery window before a hard fail-safe? Firmware Presets: When tuning specifically for environment resilience rather than cinematic smoothness or aggressive freestyle, what filter configurations or dynamic idle settings have you found most stable when dealing with turbulent air or physical environmental interference? Not looking for handouts or clout here—just pure engineering and collaboration. I know a lot of pilots in this sub have years of build experience, so I'd love to see how your real-world data matches up with my baseline configurations for this preset. Thanks in advance for any technical insights!
