Ryza 3 Crafting Question - Super Traits
I am finding this game incredible from a scale and story perspective, but overwhelming from a synthesis perspective.
My main issue right now is super traits. I am rebuilding a Svate Rod (Ryza's 2nd weapon). Ingots are used to unlock the Super Trait slot. In a Link Morph (a concept I'm also still just starting to experiment with) I've used an Amatite Ore to give the weapon ATK+ nodes, and in one of those nodes I've added an Ore that has a super trait.
So: Super Trait node unlocked - check. Raw material with a super trait I want added to a node - check. So when I go to complete the weapon, why am I not able to apply the super trait?
(I also backed out of the Link Morph and tried it on the regular Svelt Rod nodes - same thing happened)
Something I've just spotted is when I'm selecting a material (Amatite Ore) some of the super traits are greyed out, others are not. I don't know why some are grey, but I assume that means that trait can't be applied to the final product for whatever reason. So I added two ores, each with a different not-greyed-out super trait instead (hoping to force a choice) and nope - when I go to complete the rebuild, I still get no option to review/select the super trait after the normal traits screen.
I'm honestly overwhelmed by how convoluted the synthesis is in this game. As much as I loved 2, even that got a little much (I never saw an essence do anything but pointlessly change a node's element, despite how much of a deal the tutorial made about how great essences were. But it never mattered; the game was easy enough) - but this is a whole order of magnitude more complex. I'm so confused, but I'm really keen to not miss out on what might be a really fun mechanic once I understand it.
My other question is about the massive amount of SP it takes to get anywhere on the skill tree. Eventually I did use some infinite gems and rapid SP exploits to unlock a few key nodes I was after, but if the game was played "properly" it'd take forever to unlock even the basic tree, let alone the advanced one, right? But once you know the exploits, both trees can be completed extremely rapidly without ever having to leave the atelier or progress the story. Seems a bit self-defeating. Am I missing something? Is there a "legitimate" way to get decent SP from just crafting what you naturally use?
Oof. What a game. But also: what a game!
