To make a long story short, I moved to another state shortly after filing my taxes last year (filed in 2025 for tax year 2024) and was given temporary housing for a few months. I had a rough time getting my verification letter and honestly forgot about it until this tax season when I had to verify again.

I finally verified over the phone for both years (2024 and 2025) on 4/23/26. I have a DDD of 5/6 for 2025, but no movement on 2024. I know it can take up to 9 weeks; but I’m just curious what other people’s experiences are for anyone who’s done the verification for two years at one time since I’m getting this year back way faster than anticipated.
