I just installed a U400 lock and realized that none 4k Apple TVs that I currently own is a thread border router. If I buy the M200 hub which is a thread board router and connect it to Homekit, do I still need an Apple device that supports thread to use features like UWB?

So I got it working, without the need of an Apple Thread Border Router. None of the AppleTVs we have act as a TBR and seemingly the Aqara hub is acting as a compatible Apple TBR.

It took me a while to get it working as things just did not want to cooperate and I eventually got the hub added to HomeKit but the lock would not add to my main apple home, but it would add to a secondary test home.
Regardless, here are the steps I took, to getting it completely working:
1 - Removed the lock and hub any apps, including Aqara, Apple Home and the Matter Device settings under Settings-->General-->Matter Accessories.
2 - Closed out Aqara app, Apple Home app and restarted the phone.
3 - Started with adding the M200 hub to the Aqara app. Once setup, I went to the Matter setting and connected the hub to "Apple Home" via Matter. The connected Ecosystems at this point are Apple Home, Apple Keychain, and Aqara Home. Note: I did not add the hub to "Apple HomeKit" under the "HomeKit" setting.
4 - Next I added the U400 lock to the Aqara app, via the Aqara QR code on the lock. Went through the setup process and calibration. Then I used the Cloud icon to connect the U400 to the M200 hub. I now have a message that states "Aqara Matter Controller Connected".
5 - Went to the Matter setting for the U400, and created a Matter Pairing Code. Copied that code. Opened Apple Home and clicked Add Accessory. Click on "More Options". Regardless if any devices automatically pop-up, click "My Accessory Isn't Shown Here". Under the "Enter a Setup Code" section, click the "Enter Code" and paste the Matter Pairing Code that was copied from the Aqara app.
6 - After that, it finally started the setup process in Apple Home. I was able to create Home Keys, use UWB and all of the other functionality I'd expect.
Hopefully this helps anyone else using a M100, M200 or M3 Aqara hub, without an Apple Thread Border Router.
