U200 $10 difference

What’s the difference between these two. Other than $10 and a rating.

Do you really get a different product? The different delivery date seems odd.

Aqara G410 installation

Hi all
I’m thinking about getting the G410 doorbell however my current doorbell is installed at a high of 1.3m from the ground where the G410 is recommended to be installed 1.4m from the ground.
Has anyone installed the G410 at 1.3m and have you noticed any issues with installing it at the lower than recommended hight ?

502 gateway error

Getting a 502 gateway error in the Aqara app. I can see all my cameras working in the home app. Just can’t control anything via the iOS app.

Thoughts? Is this an Aqara issue?

Thermostat W200 firmware update available

Some nice additions.

One thing I’ve noticed so far is that when stopping the AC, it no longer changes state over matter from cooling to fan to off. It now goes straight to off even though the fan still blows for a bit.

Will the speak to the outage????

this is absurd. do they even have a status page to show us outages or anything? I'm new to the aqara ecosystem and losing the ability to control my IR AC during a heatwave because my hub can't communicate with their infrastructure is absolutely unacceptable.

W200 temperature swing

The temperature swing (not deadband) is not adjustable and set to a 1 degree swing. With that, the thermostat will run until it is 1 degree above/below the set point. However, what is occurring with the HomeKit connection is that the target temperature is set to 74.3(example value), which also sets the cooling/heating threshold to the same…once the temp is below (if cooling) or above (if heating) the target has been exceeded so it then changes the “current heating cooling state” to off, but the system is actually still running until it meets the swing value (73.3 or lower). Any automation that uses that as a trigger will then fail to work correctly. No other thermostat (Honeywell, Sensi, Meross, Ecobee) I have used does this. The way all of those work, once it reaches the target temp, the system runs their set dissipation before setting the current heating cooling state to off. I am ok with it running that 1 degree difference but it should not change the current heating cooling state to off until the system actually turns off. I know there is a new firmware this last week, but I no longer have my thermostat installed waiting for this to be corrected. Can anyone tell me if the new firmware release has changed this?

Aqara g400 doorbell issues

Hi
I’m having ongoing issues with this doorbell and it’s very frustrating:

  1. when sound works- if someone presses the doorbell or if if I live stream, the stream and voices are out of sync

  2. often when I live stream, I can’t get any sound at all even tho the sound is on .

Am I the only person to have this issue ?

Doorbell signal is great at -35

“No Response” to all my Aqara sensors in HomeKit?

I have 6 Zigbee Agara door sensors in HA, all are working well and are responsive. I want them in my Apple Home, so I created a HomeKit Bridge for binary sensors, titled it “Sensor Bridge”, and excluded only my AppleTV keyboard focus. For some reason, inside my Home app all sensors are showing up in the correct rooms, but all say "no response.” HELP!

Warning: 502 errors seem to break auto-lock

There's a handful of posts this morning about the 502 errors. I am seeing the same.

Making a separate post to flag the auto-lock seems to be server side driven, and as a result our home doors were all unlocked overnight.

For those of you with Home Assistant or some other Matter hub, you may want to set up a backup auto-lock automation.

First and last day with Aqara

What kind of a company thinks so little of their users as not to update a webpage or forum about awareness of an outage/issue!?!?

I started mounting and installing locks and cameras today only to have to remove all of them since nothing registers on the device, on the app, or in Home Kit rendering this multi-dollar investment in their ecosystem useless.

Can I wait? Sure. But without even an acknowledgment from the company that they’re aware of the issues (let alone working on a solution)… can’t continue this without the confidence that this is how they are.

Returns already started and I’ll spend the rest of the day re-replacing with the old hardware.

Aqara? I hardly knew ya.

Interesting info on the new HKSV 4K Spec

https://developer.apple.com/download/files/HomeKit-Secure-Video-Open-Source-Compatibility-Guide.pdf

Spec is now open. It’s publicly available where previously it was available to developers.

H.265 / HEVC is now Mandatory / Bitrates are higher (based on HEVC)

Optional highest tier for cameras that can support a 4k and 2k steam concurrently (it will would fall back to 2k instead of 1080p)

It’s not fully based on the matter 1.5.1 specification but does pull from it including the use of Web RTC (no pan and tilt controls) and cameras can advertise multiple lenses which means manufacturers are going have to support this new HomeKit spec as well as Matter instead of just Matter :(

New recording pipeline (should help with missed events)

Existing spec will remain active so no change for current HKSV cameras.

This means manufacturers will have to update existing cameras to meet this spec which seems unlikely unless it’s easy as they’ll want to push new hardware. It would be great to see 2k or 4k cameras updated if possible, but older cheap stuff won’t have HEVC support so who knows.

U100 keypad locking up after first use

I have a U100 installed on my MiL's door and for the past year it has worked well. However, anything involving the keypad has failed intermittently today. It sometimes works with a fingerprint, but if it works the first time, the keypad is entirely locked up and will give the failure chirp but delayed by 10-15 seconds. Bluetooth lock/unlock still works however.

Soft reset (taking the batteries out) and a hard reset did not resolve the issue. Is the unit dead (1 month out of warranty I think) or are there other things I should try to resolve the issue.

Also, during the hard reset the keypad worked flawlessly to enter the code to allow a hard reset.

Edit: I will point out I am running my own U100 and it is working fine today. They were installed at the same time and setup the same way.

Aqara devices offline in app but working in Apple Home (China Mainland region)

I’m experiencing the same issue with two Aqara devices in the China Mainland region. This is happening since 2 weeks ago

Hub M1S (FW 4.5.20_0023.0024)

  • Shows offline in Aqara app
  • Works normally in Apple Home
  • LED blinks blue every ~2 seconds
  • Reboot temporarily fixes it, but it goes offline again after a few hours
  • All child devices also show offline in Aqara app but still work in Apple Home

Video Doorbell G4 (FW 4.0.6_0030.0078)

  • Same behavior: offline in Aqara app but fully functional in Apple Home

No changes were made to my router or network setup. Since both devices started showing the issue around the same time, I’m wondering if this could be related to Aqara cloud/China Mainland servers rather than a local network problem.

Update

I removed the M1S hub from the Aqara app and tried adding it again:

  • It connects to my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without any issues
  • It is successfully added to Apple HomeKit
  • It works normally through Apple Home

However, during the Aqara setup process, the “Bind Device” step runs for ~60 seconds and then fails with “Failed to Add.”

any has a suggested fix?

Thanks.

G50 Pro camera owners, how did you connect to power?

G5* 🤦‍♂️

Is the USB-C connection really safe outside? Did you have to install a plug of some sort that routes through to exterior walls?

U400 measurement needed!

Can someone provide this measurement (mm preferred). It’s the CL of the cylinder/bolt to the top of the internal unit. Working in a bit of a tight space because of an oversized door handle and can’t find this measurement anywhere!

Question about the W200 thermostat

I’m interested in picking up the W200 thermostat, but I’d also like to get some sensors to leave in other rooms to then communicate back to the stat so it knows to either raise or lower temps, but I can’t seem to find anything on the Aqara site. Do they make sensors like this? I know I saw some other products from them that seem to do something similar, but I was looking for a smaller footprint device.

Smartlife groups into matter

Setup: Aqara M200 hub, Zemismart M6 Matter bridge, 6 Lafit COB lights, Z1 Pro switches. Problem: SmartLife groups give perfect sync on the 6 COBs via native Zigbee group-cast, but the group doesn’t expose to Matter/Aqara — only individual bulbs do. When I trigger them via Aqara Z1 Pro switches, I get sequential lag and desync because the M6 sends individual unicast commands instead of a group-cast. Already tweaked Grandstream router settings and saw some improvement. Looking for: hardware solutions, firmware options on the M6, or clever workarounds to either expose SmartLife groups to Matter or get Aqara to send group-cast commands locally. Any ideas?”

Additional context: When I create a group in Aqara and trigger all 6 COB lights together, I get a visible popcorn effect — each bulb turns on at slightly different times because Aqara sends individual sequential commands to each bridged Matter endpoint instead of a single group-cast command. The Zemismart M6 receives these as 6 separate unicast Zigbee commands rather than one group-cast packet, which causes the staggered turn-on. SmartLife’s native group control doesn’t have this issue because it sends a true Zigbee group-cast directly from the M6. Is there any way to either:

  1. expose a SmartLife group as a single Matter endpoint so Aqara sees it as one device,
  2. force Aqara to send group-cast commands to the M6, or
  3. any other hardware/software solution that solves this without requiring full Home Assistant setup?
