I was wondering if this trophy made by Tiffany would be considered art nouveau.

The lettering definitely looks art nouveau on the globe to me. The base is made of polished petrified wood. This is on display at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth Texas right now. On loan from the Bartholdi Museum in Colmar France.

The newspaperman Joseph Pulitzer commissioned this unique trophy after successfully leading the charge to raise $100,000 for the Statue of Liberty's pedestal. It features a portrait of Auguste Bartholdi in profile and the monument's hand and torch crowning the composition. Pulitzer promoted the campaign in his newspaper The New York World, printing the name of everyone who donated—no matter the amount. His initiative helped democratize the initiative, allowing thousands of people from across the country to contribute to its

Update: Looking for Suggestions

One more question: for my last dinner in town can you guys suggest the best place for “sides”. My buddy wants BBQ and I don’t eat meat, I do eat fish though, and I love sides like Mac n cheese, beans and such. Last night we went to Billy Bobs for dinner (had a blast and catfish was good) but was wondering what a local favorite might be that has all the sides.

PS: I had asked earlier how to spend my day in Fort Worth sightseeing and I got so many good suggestions and everything worked out really well. Breakfast at Esperanza’s hit the spot, then we walked over to the stockyards, wandered around and I got to admire the long horns on their amble through town (I love the way they move!) We walked up and down the strip and then took a car to the Kimbell, the Carter and the cowgirl museum (least favorite, they’re doing construction so mostly closed off and the collection is pretty sparse) but overall a perfect day of sightseeing and culture. Thank you for the tips!

Hey y’all! Looking for suggestions

I am here visiting from New York for an event (fellow old people insert “NEW YORK CITY!” from that salsa commercial in the 90’s)

Last night I went to Billy Bob’s and I had the best time ever just taking it all in. I couldn’t even process how big that place is and caught some of the bull riding, it was amazing. Though I have lived in New York City for many many years when I was a kid I grew up in the Midwest and worked at a stable and am kind of a secret cowgirl. I even owned a reining horse out on Long Island and got back to riding and showing for a bit a few years ago.

My question is what to fit in today. The Cowgirl Museum isn’t too far from where I’m staying but I was thinking of heading back to the stockyards to look at some of the Western stores and I think there’s some museums over there too. I wanted to catch the cattle drive (though I know it’s more just a stroll) because I think Long Horns are amazing and I’ve only seen a few long horns in person in Montauk. (Fun fact the oldest working cattle ranch in the USA is actually in Montauk, NY)

Anyway I had such a fun time taking in your cowboy culture I’d like to see more of it today. People have been so nice and welcoming while I’m here. In a perfect world I’d catch a ride on a nice cow horse or run some barrels haha but some good touristing will do.

I lost my favorite hat (camo says Avenue)

Went to urgent care over on Driggs and N4th. I think I dropped it when I was locking up my bike. I was a little out of sorts. Realized I didn’t have it when I came out. Reward if you found it $20?

Edit: $30?

It’s not fancy or anything. I just really liked it and it fit under my bike helmet nice :(
