Crashing on launch and new game
Hey all, I’m trying to get back into BG3 after some time away, but I’m running into technical issues and I’m not sure if it’s the game itself or my mods.
The game will sometimes crash on launch and may take several attempts to reach the main menu. If I start a new game with mods enabled, it consistently loads to 81% and then crashes. If I disable all mods, I can start a new game successfully (assuming the game doesn’t crash on launch first).
I’ve played both vanilla and modded BG3 on this exact laptop before without issues. I’ve already updated my graphics drivers, verified the game files through Steam, and cleared the BG3 cache.
The fact that a new game works without mods makes me think it’s a mod issue, but I’m confused by the occasional crashes on launch. I’m also using the in-game mod manager and finding it difficult to identify conflicts, missing dependencies, or outdated mods.
Has anyone run into something similar, or have suggestions for troubleshooting the in-game mod manager? Any help would be appreciated.
