Today I had a helper route and was one of the last drivers to clock in. Dispatch handed me the only van left, and of course it had no AC. I immediately brought it back and told them I wasn’t driving a van with no AC all day.
They told me if I refused the van I’d be “abandoning my route.” I said that’s not how this works and told them fine, I’ll do the inspection and ground the van properly. Funny enough, the second I said that, they suddenly found another van that had supposedly been grounded and got it ready for me instead.
Then they sent my coworker out in the original van with no AC.
The crazy part is this van has supposedly been without AC for about a month. I’ve brought it up multiple times and they refuse to fix it. I even warned them beforehand that if they tried sticking me in a no-AC van again, I’d refuse it.
I’m not some driver constantly grounding vans either — I’m a bootlicker and haven’t grounded a van once in 2.5 years working here. Today almost became the first time.

Can completely infested with roaches.

Told I would be abandoning route.
