Is the consensus that dreams mean something?

Is the overall consensus here that dreams mean something more than our subconscious?

To give a little bit of background of why I’m asking, I had an ex-boyfriend who I thought was my soulmate. We didn’t end on great terms, the last time we saw each other was 2018, but we both left feelings on the table, potentially him more than me (avoidant attachment… iykyk). I still think about him a lot, and he shows up in my dreams extremely frequently, like exponentially more than my current partner of 6 years.

Just to elaborate on what kind of dreams I have, I will be doing something really adventurous, traveling, hiking, etc. and he will show up and try to talk to me in some sort of way. My dream journal over the last 8 years has clocked 2-3 of these dreams per month, on average!!!

Additionally, I have had dreams of my deceased grandmother (the most important person who had ever been in my life) of us embracing. It felt so damn realistic, I can’t help but think that there was something greater going on.

Do dreams mean anything?

Do you believe that dreams actually mean something? That there is actually something more than your subconscious speaking to you?

Thanks in advance.
