I recently watched an awesome video by Dammit Jeff on yt (check him out, he's so cool) and it reminded me of my desire to be able to listen to music out and about without the need of my phone.
I had a Sony Walkman mp3 player as a kid (which I still have at home) but I'm on the hunt for a project and already collect CDs so I'm looking for a new device which can support Rockbox. I'm a sucker for customization so obviously the dream is an iPod but that's not in the budget - so what's a solid budget DAP that can support rockbox?
I was looking at the innioasis y1 but have heard really mixed reviews about it's smoothness and overall quality - I'm not too bothered about audio quality as long as it isn't noticably bad (I'll be using mp3s rather than flacs so storage isn't a huge issue). Bluetooth support is nice but not essential as I own cable earbuds and a pair of MX4s.
Any advice is appreciated!
